I’m not good at this fake badging identification except for obvious stuff like the “E550 AMG” or the “M7" I saw in Seattle last month. But I was rolling behind an alleged SQ5 this afternoon and some stuff seemed off?

Here’s a real one:

Here’s the one I saw:

Sorry for patato. So first thing I noticed was that the interior exhaust tips were chrome, but the outer ones were matte black. Also I swear I could see daylight through one of the tips.

If I’m crazy let me know. I want to add audi to my list of fake badge spotting and debadged spotting but I know nothing about the cues and they’re much more subtle than BMW’s fender flares or Mercedes’ diffusers.

It’s a real SQ5. The badge and exhaust pipes look convincing but also could be fake. However, the “diffuser” gives it away as not a regular Q5. You can see the little strakes in the picture, which the normal Q5 doesn’t have:

Huh, alrighty then. Just didn’t get why the exhaust tips didn’t match.

Can't answer that.

Exhaust could only flow out of one on each side and be covered in carbon.

I'm pretty sure the paint gives it away as an /S, as regular q5s don't have that blue paint

It’s real, that’s Sepang Blue that’s only on the S models. You can see the strikes on the rear valance if you look hard enough, you can see the silver mirrors and the exhausts have dual pipes but due to the rain the outer pipes on each side have carbon/soot/road grime buildup, my S4 does this over time without a wash
